Orbit

For a satellite to stay in the same place in the sky, it has to travel the same rate as the Earth spins. This is called Geostationary Orbit. It can only be achieved at 35,786 km above the equator. If the satellite is closer to the Earth, it would be too fast. If the satellite is further away to the Earth, it would be too slow. That's why UK TV points at 29 degrees above the horizon. They are always receiving a signal from a particular satellite that never moves in relation to the home.

Rocket is the love of the satellite.
